The new patient intake appointment is scheduled for 55-60 minutes; 10 minutes for administrative policies and procedures and 45 minutes for our first session together. After this our appointments will be 50-55 minutes long.
When we first meet we will talk about what brings you in, what your goals are, and formulate a working model of how we can work together to achieve those goals. This is a good time for you to ask questions about our work; asking questions is something I invite you to do throughout our relationship, as more will arise the longer we know each other. Ultimately, when you are working with a therapist with whom you feel safe and met, the relationship itself is healing too.
We will begin with administrative aspects of our relationship, such as session times; whether sessions will be in person, via video, or hybrid; and payment. Please bring the following items to our first appointment:
- Forms of payment — cash, personal check, Zelle, credit card and HSA debit/credit cards are accepted.
- Please print this “New Patient Intake Form” (PDF to Print and Complete) and bring it completed to your appointment (or arrive 10 minutes early to complete this in person). If we are meeting online, please fill out the form and email it back to me.
- My current fee for individual therapy sessions is $225. In certain circumstances, I am able to offer sliding scale sessions for clients.
- I do not accept insurance at this time, but I can provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You may want to call your insurance provider to find out what their reimbursement rate is for out-of-network outpatient mental health services.
